New Housing Development Opportunity!

The Department of Neighborhood Development is offering seven parcels of the City of Boston owned land for redevelopment into single- and two-family homes. These parcels are being offered as part of Mayor Walsh’s Neighborhood Homes Initiative, which makes City-owned land available for the creation of affordable homeownership opportunities for middle-income homebuyers.

Working with area residents, DND has arrived at the following development plan for the Mt. Bowdoin Mallon Package. There will be a total of 13 new units, including 3 two-family structures (owner and renter), 1 single-family home, and 3 side by side townhomes (6 fee simple ownership sales). When complete, there will be 8 homes for sale at an affordable price (plus 1 affordable rental unit). Two homes will be sold at a market-rate price; both will have market rental units.

The Mt Bowdoin/Mallon St. Package consists of:

  • 81 Bowdoin Avenue — 4,808 square feet
  • 27 Mallon Road —  5,334 square feet
  • 20 Mount Bowdoin Terrace — 8,477 square feet
  • 24 Mount Bowdoin Terrace — 6,722 square feet
  • 39-41 Mount Bowdoin Terrace —  4,946 square feet
  • 29 Rosseter Street — 4,897 square feet
  • 154 Rosseter Street — 4,320 square feet
